Flat - Flat Drill:
The last two step of the long jump are flat steps. The purpose is to lower your center of mass prior to your jump. This subtle drop creates a spring effect helping increase height and distance.
Stand about 8-10 feet away from the pit with your jump leg forward. Perform a 2 step long jump. The focus is to have the two step quick and underneath you. The effort needs to be focused on getting maximum height.
Progress by adding 2 more step to your approach with the same mechanics on the final two steps.
Good luck. Jump Far.
